While looking at a photographer’s website, I ended up on the personal site of photographer Seán Duggan. He is now on my radar for possible assignment, or stock photography. Purchasing unique stock images directly from photographers is one of my … “traditions”.

This is also a timely image to inaugurate the New Year. Personally and professionally, I have a lot to look forward to in 2008.

World\'s Most Expensive photograph

$3,401,000.00
That’s the price of the world’s most expensive photograph, created by Richard Prince and auctioned by Southeby’s on the first week of this year. Since 2005, both Edward Steichen and Andreas Gursky have topped the scales since Prince set the highest photo sale record in November of 2005, also with another image from his Marlboro man series. That image, with the previously-held title of “Most Expensive Photograph” in 2005 is actually far more iconic than this one. Shows what a little press from the Guggenheim can do…

The Philadelphia Museum of Art has a new building, which has the main function of indulging the best of modern sculptures with high ceilings, space and light. What a concept!

Every New Year I gravitate towards this painting, by Ross Bleckner. And every year, I feel refreshed by its qualities.
